I’m just going to put this out there right now…
I do not claim to be a professional chef, or even amateur for that matter. I’m not an award winning writer or photographer and I’m in no way the epitome of fit. However, I do love food (and I mean LOVE), and I am passionate about living a healthy and active lifestyle.
I have played with the idea of starting a blog for a awhile now but I knew I needed some kind of foundation and something that would keep readers (and myself) interested. So I combined a few topics that I feel most passionate about – food, health and life!
FYI- it was too difficult to somehow include my love for puppies in the blog title but don’t worry, you will see plenty of posts that include my adorable dog, Roger!
As a thirty-something living in the wonderful city of Chicago, being healthy isn’t always convenient. I also sometimes struggle with balancing real life responsibilities – my job and furthering a career, maintaining a social life, navigating my finances, having a boyfriend/being a good girlfriend to name a few. There are some weeks I can stick exactly to my meal plan and others times, all I can think about is “All You Can Eat Sushi” (AYCES) with my bestie where we polish off two bottles of wine. My point here friends, is that that’s all okay!
One of my favorite things to do is explore recipes, modify them and share them with friends. Whether I’m prepping for a week’s worth of healthy lunches for myself, dinners for my boyfriend or for a party with friends, I love gathering at the table and sharing a meal.
I can’t promise to provide life-changing news with every post, but I do hope to show you that eating healthy can be really tasty and sometimes even fun.
